Mavourneen's first single and music video ‘Drink’

The alternative rock duo, Mavourneen, consists of Hans Gustav Björklund Moulvad on guitar and vocals and Benedicte Pierleoni-Nielsen on drums.
The duo has just finished their debut album Submassive, produced and mixed by Nis Bysted (Iceage, Liss, First Hate, Baby In Vain, Escho).

“Drink is a reflection on greed and the self-perpetuating circles of need that follows. Inspired by a quote from Khalil Gibran, the song centers around an endless spiral of consuming and being consumed. As you drink from the glass, so does the glass drink from you.

It has been a long and wild process working with Nis Bysted (known for producing acts such as Iceage, Liss, First Hate and running the label Escho) in a long range of different studios and structuring the song from a thousand different bits and pieces.

The video, like the song, is inspired by the stories and myths of insatiable greed. Directed by Christoffer Evan Ansel, who graduated from the Danish Film Academy with the acclaimed short film ‘Hullet’, the video was a process of showing the life cycle of desire, greed and want manifested as a person."
