Intimate Night with Einstürzende Neubauten in Budapest

On October 16th, the legendary Einstürzende Neubauten took over Akvárium Klub in Budapest for an intimate and unforgettable night, part of their ongoing European tour. Blixa Bargeld and the band captivated the crowd with their unmistakable sound—an artful fusion of found objects and dark lyrical explorations, delivering an industrial symphony of noise and avant-garde energy.

Blixa engaged with the audience throughout the set, offering sharp wit and thoughtful insights. The band focused on more recent, atmospheric material, moving away from their noisier roots. Blixa also didn’t shy away from making subtle jabs at the Orban regime,  alongside vocal support for LGBTQ+ rights, that didn’t go unnoticed—stirring up a buzz in the local press.

The evening was a hauntingly beautiful journey through their evolving soundscapes, with moments of quiet intensity balanced by industrial rhythms. FOXES Magazine was there and we’re excited to share an exclusive photo gallery that brings this unique performance to life.

Founded in 1980, the legendary Einstürzende Neubauten have been following their own path for more than four decades. The band’s unique, unmistakably individual sound, the special colours conjured from the instruments of their own making, the creative use of electronics, humour, irony and an unquenchable spirit of experimentation form a mix that is impossible to describe in terms of rock, alternative pop, mainstream or subculture, their ‘folk music for outsiders and outcasts. In 2024 the band present their latest album on a European tour.
